Would this be difficult?

I am making a child's quilt under duress. Long story, but am making it at the request of the mother-to-be's father, who had been good to me. I started an ABC I Spy quilt, and I don't like it for a baby. (I made I Spy quilts for the baby's cousins, but they were toddlers.)

Anyway, I found a charm pack in my stash of Backyard pals, which will do nicely. I found a couple of free patterns for a baby quilt using one charm pack. I particularly like this one on the diagonal. I like this one because of the cornerstones. To me, cornerstones just set off a sashed quilt. Would it be that difficult to add cornerstones to this pattern? I've done cornerstones, but not on a diagonal quilt. I've done a diagonal quilt, but it didn't have sashing. I'm not in a quilting mood, so don't want to get bogged down in the weeds.
