Doing a happy dance on a sweltering Tuesday
It's hot here and the humidity is outrageous, but that didn't stop me from doing a happy dance this morning in the seedling bed. This lovely 2 year old seedling opened its first flowers for the season (it did bloom last year). Not only is the flower nice, but it has about 4 way branching and 23-30 buds on the scape. It has three scapes which are at least 30 inches tall. The flower is probably 6.5 inches. It is Small World Fire in the Hole X Stoke the Fire.
This little seedling was noticeable from across the garden. The tag says Curious Cutie X Geometric Wizard, but we weren't sure about that. The camera is making the color more vibrant than they actually are.
These next two are siblings--Merry Moppet X (Little Red Bantam X Pinewood Light in the Darkness). I like the odd color.
The named varieties are taking a back seat to the seedlings today. Here is Broadway Player, one of my favorite small tets. I wish I could find this color in a big-flowered daylily.
This is the first flower ever on Sioux Hall. It was planted last spring.
This is the first flower ever on Ethereal Pink.
