What about three small pendants down the island? That would look nice lined up "top to bottom" in your plan, and I think it would distract from the fact that it's not lined with up the windows on the left. It looks like the first one could be lined up with your sink and your range.

As long as they are centered to the island I think they will look OK. I'm picking my light fixtures right now, and seems like three or more minis is a little dated, most newer photos I see two larger unless the island is ginormous then maybe three. If the asymmetry really bugs you, you could get one large fixture that is kind of shapeless (like this kind https://www.build.com/product/summary/1643243?uid=3892755&jmtest=gg-gbav2_3892755&inv=1&&source=gg-gba-pla_3892755!c1710656075!a66879169156!dc!ng&gclid=Cj0KCQjwhqaVBhCxARIsAHK1tiMuZt3cU4jwwmnSkWDQCJqf87DFxyYhW5N9tIuNOV5stM1tyaIJq2waAhNVEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds), otherwise a rectangle will still have the same problem as individual pendants.

I think it depends on the light fixture. I do see a lot of pairs of large pendants over islands and they look amazing. It's hard to tell from this picture, but these pendants don't appear to line up with anything on the sink wall.

In our remodel, we installed three smaller pendants because I have a large fixture over our kitchen table adjacent to the kitchen (behind me in this picture). We have a similar issue as the OP--the pendants line up with our range hood but not the windows around the sink. I agree though that as long as they're centered on the island, it won't matter about the side windows.

But another important thing is to look at *all* your lighting in that room so it works together. I worry that a statement light over the island would detract from your range and hood, which I assume is meant to be a feature.

All good points stiley! I really like your pendants, too. That's true about considering the entire effect, not just isolated areas.

You can hang three pendants or one rectangular chandelier down the island. These options are great. And if you need more lighting under the sink and stove area you can install there little LED lighting.
