It’s for visual appeal only. Useless as a sink.

I would not care for this in a bathroom. Maybe in an occasionally used guest powder room. I don't think these would look right with a regular drain and stopper either (?)

There was one in this house when we bought it. In the master bathroom, a 6’ vanity and one sloped sink in the middle.

I don’t care for it. If you wanted to rinse out a delicate, or soak something, it’s nearly useless for that. Once in a while I wash my hair in the sink. The first time I tried it, I thunked my forehead on the sloped part. 🙄

You can wash your hands in it. That’s about it.

I am not at all keen on this.

The function of your bathroom should be your first concern, then pick the form. Are you going to be sorry you chose a sink based on the oohs and ahhs you get and it turns out that its totally a PITA to actually utilize? If you like a super contemporary look, theres a million sinks (including building a more traditional sink shape from the same counter material) that will actually work better for the average human. I think that sink shape would end up being an almost instant regret, although it looks vey pretty and modern. Thats my non professional opinion, good luck w your decision.

I’ve only used one in an Airbnb for about a week. I hated it. Difficult for face washing. Toothpaste seemed harder to swipe/wash away.

I'm not sure copying materials/design from bathroom restaurants is a good idea! :-)

IMO you get a sink with a stopper built in to protect your rings and there are 100s of fabulous contemporry sinks that will fuction better and still look awesome. You really give us no info as to where this is going or your style. Ith ink if you love it put it in the powder room sort of like the restaurant bathroom .

I've used these sinks in hotels that were going for a modern decor. I hated the sink, but it was only for a night or two. For all the reasons mentioned above. In particular, brushing your teeth is gross unless your spit aim is perfectly into the drain. You also must get a faucet like the one in the photo with a high arch and very little faucet reach in order to allow elbow room in this sink to use it.

While I've never cleaned one of these sinks, I'd imagine that the extremely sharp and narrow radius of the interior corners would allow crud to gather and be difficult to get out.

They're around. I think it's a nice choice.

It functions just dandy with no weird or unexpected issues.

(Mine is not integrated into a counter like that, but it's got the same shape.)

I have what you call belly sinks as well in three of my bathrooms. They are perfectly fine; easy to clean, drain well, and deep enough to soak a blouse or other clothing item.

Add me to the belly sink crew. So far, so good. Mine seems deeper than that one in your pic. Also, it is an under mount.

I have to wonder at the water waste in the first sink discussed. Shaving with water running non stop--HUGE WASTE and most men shaving need a pool of water or running water. The second is a fine sink, all the function one needs just a different shape. Not really a huge deal breaker in the look of a sink. Particularly in a ensuite. NO ONE but you sees it. Just silly to spend more than one has to on a very utilitarian item NO ONE sees.

We have two “belly” sinks in our bathroom and they function just fine, much better than I expect the sloping sink would.

It is easy to wipe out and a little visual surprise versus the standard bowl shape. I feel it supports nice form without compromising function.
