I have similar top but in clay and brown. If this helps, consider using plates with ceramic look of imperfection, to blend a bit with the top... buy distressed finish to blend?

The chairs in the stock photo look good to me. The marble brown/black is neutral and what you choose for a rug and decor will determine how it goes in your space. I suggest you do nothing to the top and see how you feel in the future.

Thanks gayle! i dont mind the stools in the photo style wise but i find the black leather too heavy looking. i think you’re right though i’m going to live with the top for a bit and see how i feel

@everdebz the ones with wood seats and/or no back are a no for now! will take the hubs shopping and try some of those upholstered models though!

OMG do not paint the top!!!! It's faux marble. If you don't like the top then return the table.

We have no idea if this table design and color complement your interiors or not. We can only suggest counter height stools that work with the table. All these countertop stools are from Wayfair.

I had a square dining table once. I found it hard to get the placemats and space for 6 on the table top.

Once you start adding up the cost of chairs, you may be surprised. Often times a set ends up less expensive and it matches. Finding chairs to complement may be a bit of hit and miss. Finally, you also dislike the table’s surface, can you return or sell table?

Given the above, I’d look for a set.

Thanks all! the table has arrived and its perfect for our space. i will try to work with the brown marbled top. going stool shopping with the hubs, and will be seeking more advice as our dining room walls are bare and will need some attention!
