Help ID please!

I bought a couple of bare root roses this spring and planted them in April. They grew beautifully and are full of buds and blooms. It was supposed to be ”Broadway”, but was clearly mislabeled. It is very disease resistant and floriferous. I can't say about smell because I have a very strong sense of smell and can detect it slightly in newly planted and almost always in most roses, once established. I LOVE this rose and need help ID-ing it please! I know it’s still a baby, but any thoughts?

No expert here. But when I saw the photos the first one I thought of was Sexy Rexy.

It might be Sexy Rexy if it has slight scent:

I'm new to this and unlikely to be correct, but how about James Galway?

If you haven't already, I would contact the nursery with photos and ask. It's very robust and happy, good luck.

I have James Galway as 7th-year own-root, see below:

It would narrow down the list of possibilities if you shared where you got it from.

This rose has a dark reverse petal, it could be…I have no clue so was asking for ideas. I was thinking First Prize or maybe Blossomtime?

    I bought them at Aldi.

My guess was First Prize. I need to look at HMF again. Diane

First Prize is extremely tall, saw that in a pot at Lowe's and it was near 5 feet tall. Blossomtime is a climber. First Prize smelled fabulous in that pot, best scent ever for a hybrid tea. First Prize had much less petals than your pics.

Definitely not First Prize. Way too many petals and wrong form in the totally open blooms.

Sexy Rexy is a popular floribunda (light scent), sold yearly at HomeDepot. Your shorter bush & many blooms is typical of floribunda. Scentuous shrub is another possibility, but this has more petals and intensely fragrant.

The flowers are much bigger and the reverse much darker than sexy rexy.

It's really close to Sexy Rexy... color is right. My only hold-back is that it's showing an awful lot of petals in the open bloom. Sexy Rexy's open blooms have a lot of petals, but your pic seems like a smidge too many. But I could totally be wrong. I have two of them, the first one for ~20 years. How about if I equivocate to a 80% vote for Sexy Rexy? LOL. A fragrance report might help.

agree with Straw, this looks like the floribunda Sexy Rexy.

    Could it be Distant Drums?

Distant Drum has a mix of lavender & orange & pink colors in its blooms, and the scent is weird myrrh. Saw a bed of dozens of Distant Drum at Chicago Botanical Garden and they are very different from your rose.

It’s a very nice variety whatever it is. Just from the dense healthy growth it looks to be a relatively new variety, those are the sort of roses Weeks and others have been breeding, though I can’t think a specific variety that matches your pic. The petal substance is too good to be an Austin, lol.

Definitely not Distant Drums! I've grown DD for a long time, and it has a quite unique look to the blooms... lavender mixed with pink, which gives it an almost brown-ish tone sometimes. And as Straw said, myrrh fragrance. Your recent pics confirm my previous suspicion/comment that the open blooms have too many petals for Sexy Rexy. They don't even look like your previous pics! Your current pics have a distinct coral tone to the blooms that your previous pics did not. Mysterious!

Not Distant Drum. Distant Drum has way fewer petals. Also the bloom form and color are very different from yours. I would like to know the answer. Yours is a very beautiful rose.

    Hi, Not sure,; Maybe….Sexy Rexy…. update afterall….

My Sexy Rexy is very peachy….but hot sun brings out peach color…..

    Coooler spring 2022

It was almost pink in cooler weather, but still peach. I see online some photos a little more pink of Sexy Rexy. If yours ever gets more peach in hot sun…. then maybe Sexy Rexy.

When your rose matures it may be easier to identify.

I found this photo online, author unknown of Sexy Rexy… more pink-little peach….

Ironically, I had a rose that was supposed to be Broadway...turned out to be Harry Wheatcroft (i.d. thanks to Paul Barden). Your "Broadway" is a real great bloomer! I'm not sure which rose it is. But is sure is beautiful!
