Mostly Purples Today

The dark purples in the garden were catching my eye on this cooler day.

Mister Mayor ffo - I started out with a single fan three seasons ago, and now I have seven, I'm looking forward to seeing this Davisson at clump strength.

Black Falcon Ritual ffo

Star Lord ffo - This Derrow has some of the best branching and budding in the garden this season.

Maui Sunrise brightens up the front garden.

Moonlight Sail

Carefree Sunset

Entwined in the Vine

The Ultimate Sacrifice

Watermelon Summer, looking much darker in color today.

The first four you posted are great. Yes, I love Maui Sunrise too even though it is not purple! It is on my list for someday.

I again like them all. Maui Sunrise has alrways been a favorite for me. I'm waitng to see how it will bloom here.

I did notice today that Dearest Valentine has 8 scapes so far coming up. I know this year I have to divide it. Still windy here so no spraying otherwise I'll have more on me than on the plants.

I love Maui Sunrise, but all are beautiful The seedling is a keeper too. Moonlight Sail is awfully pretty, but every one of them is.

Julia - I'm glad you have Maui Sunrise back. It has such great color. Thanks for letting me know Dearest Valentine has multiplied so well for you. I hope the deer won't get it this season.

All are beautiful but Maui Sunrise, Watermelon Summer, and Carefree Sunset are my favorites.

I am so glad you posted Carefree Sunset! I have that one in the middle of some big clumps I was a little uneasy about wading into and could not remember the name!! Voila!!

Maui Sunrise has such pretty color. Star Lord and your seedling have that white edge that makes them stand out. And I love Moonlight Sail.

My Mary's Baby just bloomed after a years absence from my garden. It is as pretty as I remember it and between it and Paul Voth I'd be happy with these two purples in my garden and no more. Except for the tempter Star Lord (kin to MB if I remember correctly). If only it was a dormant. ...Carefree Sunset is another pretty color I like and I keep coming back to look at it. Such a sweet pink...........Maryl

Maryl - It's too bad Star Lord is an evergreen. It's like Mary's Baby on steroids. Maybe I'll get Carefree Sunset in the ground this year. It would make my Top 100 favorite daylilies here. I may move out another Stamile, Absolute Treasure, and put CS in its place. It's a coral rose and takes on more orange tones the longer the sun shines on it.

Kate - I'm glad my photo helped you with the name of your Carefree Sunset.

Brad, Kay, Sherry, Kate, Nan - Maui Sunrise is bright and beautiful. I have Julia to thank for that one. I'm not a big fan of oranges, but I love that one.

Of course, you know those 1st 3 have my heart. Love the purples. The Ultimate Sacrafice had a nice bloom here today. I was out at 5 this morning, not a lot of daylilies were awake so I left my camera inside and got busy. I did not get pictures at all today. I am also liking Moonlight Sail.

Nancy - I'm impressed you were out at 5 a.m. I went out at 6:45 and had to wear a sweatshirt. I was surprised so many of my blooms were already open. With the cool temps, it was back to weeding and mowing for me today. I always know you will like the purples.
