What's been happening on the other side of the fence?

They may not be getting enough water. Once summer-like conditions arrive (mid-May here in Texas), I tweak my drip irrigation to run longer and increase the amount of water during summer.

Do you fertilize them yearly?? Maybe add some Miracle Grow potting soil too.

They seem a bit crowded and even though they don’t like to be dried out they can take some sun. You might want to test your soil and amend it accordingly. I used to add Holly tone to mine every spring plus some epsom salt . Try cutting some of the surrounding shrubs away to give breathing room and let more light in.

What's been happening on the other side of the fence?

The neighbours have a garden bed that they can't maintain, just weeds. It is probably 6 inches lower than my yard. Every yard is lower as you go south on this street. The drop was 'insulated' with boards by the landscaper, however I do worry about how much heat or cold the roots are exposed to even at 12 - 15 inches from the fence line.
