Hi there,
We are looking to do a kitchen update and have beautiful cherry cabinets. Looking for information on stripping current stain to obtain more of a oak or natural cherry look ( brown or white undertone).

That is a natural cherry look in my opinion and I have never heard of someone wanting cherry cabinets to look like oak.

You could strip and sand to get back to a new-cherry light color. But in 10 years, they are going to age right back to the color you have.

They are very beautiful! I would leave them as is and update the rest of the kitchen.

Woodworker chiming in. Cherry is one of my favorite woods to work with. It has a lot of personality and increases in beauty as it ages. Your cabinets are natural cherry and look to be well crafted. Please leave them as is and enjoy their natural beauty. Real wood is timeless and classic.
