Id this perennial, chocolate leaves

Hello, Would you help me id this perennial. It has chocolate leaves, grew about 3' tall last season and might have had small white flowers in the fall. I moved it recently because of a renovation and it is dying now. I'd like to know what it is before it completely disappears.

Zone 6 -leaves i pressed yesterday, sorry for the condition of these.
