Since your vanity is on the smaller side I would keep it. It looks fine in the photo and removing it might mess up the wall. Probably more trouble than it’s worth.

Not really necessary, but probably more trouble than it’s worth to remove if it is adhered to the wall.

I vote to leave it, looks normal. Put a single towel bar on that wall so bottom of towel is right at top of backsplash.

Sure crow bar would pop it right out. Then you get to fix the wall, get the glue off the counter top...is it worth it? Nope.

If you decide to remove it make sure the countertop edge along the wall is finished like the other side. Mine is rough so I have left the side piece on.

I don't care for it, but it's not horrible and many folks do have it so it is not some odd thing that no one has ever seen.

Is it the angle of the picture or is our sink off center?

BTW - I really like the floors!

If your wall is not square it could be hiding a gap.

Select a larger piece of art for the wall.

Ditto on the gap issue. I would really be p!ssed if I popped it off and discovered it was hiding a gap. Or an unevenly cut edge.

I think it's fine. many vanities like yours have both splashes

What you do need is something over the toilet.

you could do marble shelves,

white shelves

or a more black/industrial type of shelf

pick some decorative items. maybe texture like a basket, or even wood

These are hung too high, (about 8 inches lower for both would look better).

if you did want to remove it, remove both and do a tile wainscot or tile backsplash, something like this

Leave it. It looks fine and it will protect the wall from spills on the counter.
