I would avoid too many materials. You already have siding and brick. IMO, it isn't the style of home for shakes. The most inconsistent part of the house is the arched brick area; do you have the budget to make a change there and to remove that clumpy hedge blocking the main entry?

We don’t want to remove the brick. The front door and a private patio are behind it. We do plan to remove the shutters on all 4 windows and make the trim around each thicker. Just not sure if there better options than the regular siding like we have now.

If discoloration is the only problem, you might check with the major paint companies who most likely have a specialty paint for steel siding.
