Geez, Michelle, I’m sorry to see that. I personally would not accept it and think it’s bad installation. Those holes look huge! Maybe take pix from a bit further back so the pros can see them in context.

Cheap knockoff brand hardware poorly installed is a canary in a coal mine flag to look closer at the whole. Nothing visible there is acceptable.

How did you choose this cabinet maker?

@Verbo great question! We had quality work done by them the first time around in our mudroom. This time around not so much.

Thanks for your feedback. I stand corrected this is particle board, not mdf. What is the best way to fix particle board errors? It’s going to be fixed, but vinyl stickers are being suggested as a solution. But my research tells me putty and paint would be best.

Bondo, patch it, sanded, and painted.

That said that is a disgrace to do this type of work and leave it like this, make them fix it.

Particle board doing what particle board does. It is the cheapest panel product. But it chips, flakes, swells up & then turns to sawdust it gets wet, won't hold screws worth a damn. Weighs a ton but that weight doesn't translate to strength. Semi-OK substrate for laminate countertops provided you don't need to screw the dishwasher brackets to it but that is about all I would ever use it for.

None of this is acceptable. I’d be very upset.
