I am not familiar with this specific variety of maple. However, Google says it grows fast and to 40-50' tall and 35'-40' wide. It's hard to tell in your picture, but it looks like the tree is very close to the overhang of your house. Do you have room for this tree? We have a maple that the former owners planted quite close to the house. It is a problem because it drops leaves in the gutter, needs expensive trimming, and shades our deck more than we would like.

Silver maples are the absolute worst. I lived next to/ underneath one for 5 years and it was a nuisance and huge. It was planted in the middle of the neighbor's yard and the canopy covered my neighbor's entire yard and 75% of mine. I agree there's not room.

Definitely too large for area and to close the house. I have a silver maple that spread off into 3 headers and it is massive. Totally didn't expect it to be so large. Thank goodness we moved it from its original position closer to the house. And yes it shades a very large area. You don't want any tree close to the house like your neighbor's

Will the maple cause problems in the future? Yes. Absolutely yes it will.

It's a nice tree, just too big for your front yard. Move it this fall -- either to your backyard, or give/sell it to someone with more space for it to grow.

otherwise.. i think youve done a pretty good job with the pruning.. and all the rest you note.. is just how a young tree grows ...

im not sure that alleged stake is doing much of anything ...

where are you. big city name... move it in dormancy.. wither this fall when the leaves turn color.. indicating the tree is dormant.. or in winter.. or very early spring.. 6 to 8 weeks before the heat of summer build ...

i might also consider.. cutting it off below the bends .. so it will be more in tune with its trunk vs canopy height ratio ... so you wont need that alleged guy wire ...

It will be a problem. In 25 years, your front yard will be nothing but maple roots.

Depending on the variety of cherry and pear, one or both may be gone in a decade or two.

This will give you and idea of what your yard will look like in a few years.

The only way i'd keep this tree is if I had spot for it where no one would see it. I def wouldn't keep it in my front yard. Just being honest...
