I think in certain cases, they can look good and work well. Just depends on certain factors. :)

I’ve done this out of necessity (more kids than money 😂) and I still think it’s a great idea. Get your proportions right with the room and you’ll be good with many different styles.

Mostly it means getting a style that goes with your decor…i have chosen antique pieces in our home for this…since they are usually sturdier..better quality ..than new pieces made for this use…
