Needs some style. Too much “western” look. It’s near a pool but faces the canyon.

Too much western look? It's entirely western, and quite well done at that.

    Patricia has some good questions.

What do you want it to look like? Not much can be done without a complete teardown. You might be able to pull off surf shack with some paint and surfboards, though.

Perhaps you could change the corrugated metal of the overhang to standing seam metal, the countertop to stainless steel and stain the wood a darker shade. Beyond that how far do you want to go?

I need to keep the structure just make it more stylish and updated. Here the surroundings. Make it user friendly.

Think Industrial rather than rustic. Remove everything that is kitschy cowboy. Stain the wood Iron Ore (black) inside and out. Fit the interior with nice natural wood shelving. Change out the interior lighting. Do you need exterior lighting on the building? If so, down lighting so that you don’t interfere with the night sky. Get rid of the barrels on your deck. Commit to Industrial chic. Your view is fabulous!

Vintner's tasting kiosk: remove everything inside and all the exterior decor, whitewash the interior walls, paint exterior to match the house. Add streamlined lighting that won't get dusty.

If spiders are a problem, finish the interior with wallboard and off white paint, then store only easily hosed-down things there such as your Igloo chest.

What an awesome yard! Your house and pool area look to be more traditional--is that right? I would first remove all the Western elements, replace the bar stools, and see how you like it. It looks to be well built, and the color of the wood looks nice in your yard. Plus you have nice landscaping. Maybe paint the inside white. If you want to do more, I'd paint the whole thing a creamy white like your house and replace the metal awning with something striped, like your pool umbrellas. Do you have a fire pit down there?

Or you could go dark and pull a dark gray from your stone.

Well kiss Clint Eastwood goodbye lol.

What about a more Mediterranean feel with Clay roof tiles replacing the tin roof and faux stone or stucco coating the exterior? This would take time and money to beef up support for the clay tiles but there might some look alike products to do this.

Palm frond thatching would be lighter for a beach shack tiki bar vibe if you just wanted to switch themes.
