We are refinishing our floors and painting out house. We are painting walls and trim white dove and staining the floors medium brown.
I originally wanted to stain the banister to match, but because of budget reasons I have decided to paint.
Now I'm trying to decide on color either black or dark brown and finish super high gloss (hollandic brilliant) or satin.
I also don't know what to do about the posts (spindles? I don't know the proper name) that are currently stained and extend below the floor. Do I paint them white or the same color as the handrail? Does that change depending on the finish I choose?
Any help, photos , suggestions welcome. Thank you in advance
