They will bloom. Mine are at that same stage, but wait a few weeks and they'll be covered with flowers. Bidens aristosa or something similar. They spend a lot of time putting on all that height, and then bloom later in the season. They are very prolific self seeders so you might want to deadhead a few if you want to maintain some diversity.

if everything blooms at exactly the same time.. then there would be wide gaps when nothing is blooming ..

ergo.. that it blooms out of cycle with a lot of other stuff.. is probably a plus.. not a minus ...

though keep in mind that reseeding nightmare issue ...

my gardening experience took a great leap forward.. when i started gardening according to bloom cycle.. trying to always have something in bloom...

They will grow at least another foot or so and get spindly

before they bloom, right? Sort of like what this photo from

mid-September last year shows?...

These pics were taken on August 31, 2019. It seems like everything is a couple weeks behind this year. I remember the flowering Bidens were about my height or taller, and I'm 6'1.

My plants are currently in the same stage as yours.
