More "organic"? As in not plastic? Are you actually talking about an applied film? Won't be much out there that isn't based in some type of plastic base in that case.

I would do a solar shade and then blackout curtains on top. Solar shade will let light in for when you want light but privacy and blackout for naps and night. Make sure the blackout curtains are taller and wider than the window to cover and light gaps.

+1. Nothing in the cling films is going to be "organic". As mentioned above, a fabric or woven type shade is going to be much more organic in nature. Keep in mind, many are still treated of PFAS fire retardants and will off gas. I would look for something with an attention to air quality.
