ordered furniture, came in damaged!b

I ordered two Universal Night stands in May. The both have damage; one on the top and one on the side and back. They are going to try and fix the damaged top.
I discovered the damaged back after I brought the one back.
Should I decline them and get my money back?
Should I have them them repaired?
Should I get a store credit and reorder the same night stands or order something different?
The night stands were $1,000 each.
Opinions?
Thanks

The side is pulling away from the case piece and it has ripped some of the back cover and looks shredded.

Other side looks neat and finished.

I would ask for replacements. I would be skeptical about the quality of a repair. For $1,000 I think you deserve better than what you got.

Why aren't you working with the company you bought the night stands from so you can get the resolution you want

Return them for a full refund.

I would return and get my money back. I know furniture, like everything else, has gone up in price and down in quality, but $1000 a piece still feels really expensive for the quality you got.

If this is really the best you can get for your money in new furnishings I would check out etsy, ebay, facebook marketplace and craigslist.

    You need to ask yourself.....

Will the next end tables come perfect?

Can you live with the damage, since it is the back of the piece?

I have found that sometimes I can live with the damage, if I was given a substantial reduction in the price. If the damage is where it cannot be seen. If the damage can be fixed by me.

If the end table is now $500, would you be able to live with it then?

Everything I have ordered this year. Leather Chairs, Refrigerator and coffee table, all came damaged. I was on my third Refrigerator before I said, I can live with this and they gave me a substantial reduction in price. The Leather chairs where reduced 30 percent. Something I knew I could fix, the same with coffee table.

So you need to ask yourself these questions and one more. Do I need perfect? If so, Return, Reorder, and Cross your fingers.

For sure return for a full refund. Doesn't look like it was damage done during shipping, to me it looks like it happened when manufactured. Their quality control is zero and could happen again. Personally I would rather have no tables than pay $1K for poor quality that is damaged.

The fact is about 50% of furniture arrives to a receiver damaged (I used to sell a LOT of furniture). It seems with the increase in demand, this percentage could now be higher. Some lines were worse than others. It was our responsibility to have anything that was damaged repaired before delivery to the client. If you have ever ordered anything from a furniture store, I guarantee they did the same thing. If the damage was extensive, we used our leverage to get the replacements as quickly as possible. When you order furniture directly online, you are responsible for dealing with the repair or replacement. As others have noted, the replacements may also be damaged. If you really like the pieces, have them repaired and hopefully you will get a fair credit for the cost.

Return them. Fiberboard backing and made in Vietnam? I wouldn't pay $1000 each for that.

Most casegoods have a fiberboard back it is not seen and serves the purpose it was meant for. That would not be the issue for me but the back is not even installed properly. I bet somewhere along the line the piece got damaged and the store tried to fix. I aslo have no clue what these tables look like but I have boight many night tables during Covid for a lot less than 1K each and they all came in perfect repair.
