I am putting that on my list. Even though it is not the species, the P. paniculata is native here and I am doing a serious overhaul here to add more natives now through the fall (I have a lot, but want to get to 70% as Doug Tallamy suggests). Step one is removing lots of 'mistakes' or just non-natives that don't provide anything to pollinators, caterpillars, birds, etc. Thanks for the information!

If you mean phlox jeana you won't be disappointed. It needs room. My biggest one branches out 3 feet.

I’ve read good things about Jeana but have not been able to find it at my local nurseries. If I’m remembering correctly, it was top-rated in the Mt. Cuba phlox trials.

Yes, it was rated there best phlox. No mildew and the one that attracted the most pollinators. I have seen a few places online that have it.

Oh I just read about that phlox in the Mt Cuba reviews. It looks as though each individual flower is smaller than many of the newer phlox, but still quite the show. Great to hear it lives up to providing for the pollinators too.

They do have smaller flowers that form a much bigger flower, some being as much as 6 inches long and about 4 inches wide. I counted 16 branches with a flower on each one just on one plant..

They kind of remind me of a lilac. Here are some picture close up. They are starting to fade a bit but still are attracting butterflies. The hummingbirds also like them. The day I brought mine home I sat ithem on my patio and sat down in my chair, about 5 minutes later a hummingbird flew up to feed and kept coming back to it still in the pot.
