Rainbow Marcella with Pow Wow is G-o-r-g-e-o-u-s!

I just got the Rainbow Marcella this year and mine is pretty small. How mature are yours? I think you've convinced me to move my Pow Wow, as mine aren't planted together!

Gorgeous as usual maz!! Gosh I just took a quick stroll around my garden before work and everything is droopy, crunchy, brown, dying, dusty. What a (literally lol) hot mess!

Once again I'm eyeing that Rainbow Marcella. I considered it in the spring because of you, pulled back because of budget, and now you're tempting me again. It's such a spectacular color!

I don't dare take or post any photos of my garden at the current time lol!! (but I love looking at everyone else's!)

Thanks @gawdinfever Z6! Rainbow Marcella was planted last year, and Pow Wow Wildberry 2 years prior. There are 3 RB and 2 PW planted. They are still small, as you can see from this pic:

Gorgeous. I’m also impressed by that Rainbow Marcella and it’s perfect with the Pow Wow Wildberry! I tried a fancy colored echinacea once, but it didn’t survive my winter.

I grew Apache Sunset Agastache from seed this year and was noticing yesterday how wimpy the plant and leaves are when compared to my Honey Bee. I look forward to seeing it bloom next year.

@party_music50: I find it so strange that all my echinaceas have survived our zone 3 winters but multiple people have reported here on GW that theirs do not overwinter.

I planted many varieties last year and they all came back. These are the ones I have:

I love the photo of the Allium, which I'm usually luke warm about, but you've done a great job planting that patch. And the Liatris with Coneflower looks great too!

Thanks, FaNewbie - I'm glad that not everyone is having this drought. Such an interesting garden you have. And your grass is GREEN! lol That Angel's Trumpet - Wow! I forget, do they open at night? They're fragrant right? I can't tell you how many times I've bought seed for Tithonia and not planted it. One of these years. I've always had Balloon Flower on my list, but I guess I just never see it at the nursery. It looks good with the Blanket Flower and I really like the combo of roses, echinacea and salvia. Which rose is that?

This year we have almost weekly even twice rains for the season and everything grows well. we never water the grass but husband complains a few times mowing the grass at such high gas price. Angels Trumpet opens both day and night and yes it is fragrant. mine is charles grimaldi. I am happy you like the coneflower-salvia-rose combo. The rose at the back is from Costco,labeled as Tiffany but obviously wrong. Folk in Rose forum named it Tiffphoney:) Tithonia grows so tall and takes a lot of space. It also flops and blocks the walkway completely. But butterflies and hummingbirds love it very much and it is the best spot to take pictures of these buzzers :)

FaNewbie - That was me last year - It was amazing with a good amount of rain how well my garden grew. It was quite a comparison to what I usually have.

That's funny - 'Tiffphoney' lol Those rose forum members are such a cheerful bunch and funny too I see.

On the Tithonia - I have a small garden so it has been hard to find a spot for it. And flopping can be a problem that I try to avoid, but butterflies and hummers should make it worth it. I'll still try to fit it in, maybe next year.

We also have a small lawn. Barely takes 30m to do both the front and the back. We switched to an electric mower years ago, because my DH was throwing his shoulder out trying to start the old string pull gas motors. The first one we had was corded and we could manage on our small lawn. We just replaced that 2 years ago with a battery powered and DH loves that! I think we get 45m from one charge.

I never imagined I’d be saying this, but I bought some black eyed Susan’s!! I never liked them as they are just so bold! But they have grown on me as they add so much color to the garden....at this blah time. Found a great Ebayer and got a couple lots from her. She was very generous. I’m in the works now of trying to figure out where to put them all. I’m looking forward to some color next year.

I love seeing garden photos and hearing what has done well/not so well. Thank you all for posting and sharing great pics. I enjoy having a variety of garden plants but I also do not want too many that require super specialized care so I always like coming to Houzz to find people's experiences.

On cone flowers, I have a Salsa Red going into its third year. Other than that, mine are all offspring of Cheyenne Spirit mix and White Swan. I think you can probably tell which one is Salsa Red in the photo. :D

IowaBlooms - Such a pretty grouping of coneflower. I'm used to the pink and white colors but those are great colors and I'm surprised that I really like the 'Salsa Red'. I haven't had coneflowers for a good 5 years I think, but I'm considering adding them back in, I miss them.

I'm going to try to make some time soon to post some photos of the difficulties the drought has caused in my garden this season.
