We have installed a natural poplar ceiling in a cottage we are building. I love the soft look of the wood and it looks great so far with the primer coat of matte paint on the walls. My question - is there a reason I would need to seal the wood ceiling? A friend said they had installed a natural wood ceiling and when they came back later there were lots of spider webs. They inferred that the natural wood texture made it easier for spiders to attach their webs and made for more cleaning issues. Anyone have experience in this?
