I would go with the first one in your photos as its not absolutely square and can break up the square on square look a little.

Thanks for the suggestion, Sabrina. I love the chandelier in the picture you shared and that was actually the one I was initially drawn to. I thought it might be a little too formal for my room. But, seeing you are a pro and suggested it, I am definitely getting this style. I found one that’s almost identical and on sale. Thanks so much for your input!

Just make sure the fixture is long enough and large in scale to complement your heavy table and chairs. Get some art for the back wall.

And, thanks for the tips about the artwork and the rug. I will definitely look for some artwork that compliments my room. As for the rug, I absolutely agree. I tried an 8x10 rug first and it looked much too large for the dining space. The 5x7 is a tad too small. I will have to look for a suitable 6x11ish sized rug.

Wonderful rustic house? The thick black top trim might have that rustic feature to suit your home, but I wonder if it is otherwise all crystal, and too fancy.

Yes, my house is a little rustic. The unofficial term I would use is “rustic bling.” The crystal chandelier on its own would look a little odd in a truly rustic house but I have bling incorporated in other places. I am attaching a pic of my unfinished living room for an idea of how it looks.

Here is what I went with. It should hopefully be installed this weekend and I am really excited to see how it looks. I also picked up some new artwork for the wall and that will arrive in a couple weeks. I will post a couple pics later too. Thanks, everyone, for your helpful advice!

Thanks, TBL. I already read up on that because the current chandelier is way too high. My ceilings are just under 10’ and based on my research, the chandelier should be 35 to 39” over the table.

The chandelier went up last night and I love it!! I was up until 2:30am putting on the crystals but it was worth it. 😂

I feel like it’s just a smidge too high. But, not so high that I want it adjusted. We measured it out so that it would be about 33” above the tabletop but in the leveling and straightening process, it went up a couple inches. It’s at about 36” now. It took a lot of time getting it perfectly straight and narrow. It can be adjusted down but with the crystals all in place, I don’t know that I want to risk any adjustments. What’s that saying again… “the true enemy of good is perfect.” Yeah, that one.

Here is the almost finished product.

I actually like that first chandy -- the one you already have. I also like the "crystal box" options shown above; they make a nice contrast with your stacked stone and ceiling beams.

If you're into "Rustic Bling", have you considered something with Mercury Glass? It's not trendy at all, but I like it. It's kinda rustic, kinda vintage, and it's unique -- but much less understated than the crystal boxes. If you have any DIY skills at all, you can turn any piece of glass into Mercury Glass. Maybe pick up some plain drinking glasses at Goodwill and practice on them before you work on a real chandelier that cost you money.

Avoid the chandelier that looks like a bunch of sperm.

I didn't notice that at all. I like mercury glass because it adds a bit of bling ... without being overly fancy.

Here is the final finished room with artwork. I probably could have went a little bigger with the artwork but the cost jump just wasn’t worth it to me.

Neat and trim, and art is near to 3 windows... seems fine... chandelier is a diamond necklace with the classic little black dress. :)
