I don’t think I inderstand this house. Are you building it?

Do you have a sample of the stone that you can look at next to paint samples in daylight? Maybe the Shoji White is too light or too warm if the stone is more gray, but I can't tell that from the visualization.

It has a mix of warm and gray.

I was thinking to do dark stain since beams are douglas fir and look a bit pink.

is the urban bronze trim the issue? should I do lighter trim so it wont clash with the wood beams?

@elcieg i have been following the post and I saw the one home that has the tanish paint so figured shoji should work. But second guessing myself.

The wood where it isnt stained actually does go quite well with some of the stones. I would leave it that lighter color. I dont think the dark color is right, with the stone. The dark, of course, does go with the creamy color, but, so does the lighter stain.

you dont think it’s too orange? also it is 2 different woods: pine and douglas so 2 different colors. I know even after stain it will look like 2 different colors but i think it might be less of a difference?

I think the porch ceiling is too dark and too brown. We had a custom color mixed - a combo of a brown and gray.

I think you shoul stain pine to much douglas better. this is teak oil stain from HD. can send details if you need.

@clt3 do you have the info of your stain? That color might be a good middle ground.

I do not. The painter custom mixed it by combining 2 colors. Our contractor has brought several prospective customers to look at our new room and everyone has commented about how much they like the color of the ceiling - not too dark, brown,, or orange.

Shoji Whit can sometimes read quite yellow. Try BM Classic Gray with your stone.

Looks like a large project to not be sure and maybe making major mistakes? You might want to consider hiring a color consultant for some suggestions at your actual location.

Yes, that color would work. That appears to be a walnut stain.

Any recomendations for a one step exterior stain? we have tried cabots semi transparent and it doesnt come in a walnut color.
