I wouldn’t try to tile anything on the door wall since there isn’t a definite stopping point. And as for tiling behind the appliances, I’d go a row or two lower than what I think it might need just to hedge my bets for any future appliance replacement and what the line of sight might be.

Wallpaper is a great idea! I'm hoping to add some "fun" in the laundry room.

I'd do a little wood shelf there too. I have one and it's nice for items

as for the door wall, just paint it. or, do wallpaper on that one.

I LOVE the first photo. I didn't even think about adding cute lights, but what a difference they make. As for a bar for clothes, we have a clothes rack in the garage that I use to hang clothes, and the door leads directly to the garage. We actually do use the cabinets, so I wouldn't want to remove any of them.
