Going crazy with whites.

Remodeling kitchen, adding cabinets, adding a six foot window. Plan on Decorator's White for kitchen cabinets. Wall color suggestion in open DR and LR from a paint expert is BM Patriotic White. Has anyone ever used it? Biggest dilemma is I am building two cabinets on either side of LR fireplace which will also be Decorators white. Will the DW and the Patriotic White clash? What do I do for trim? K, LR and DR all have east west windows. Thanks.

I would not mix up whites. Use the decorator white like your cabinets. If you really want white walls, then use decorator white for that too, but, in a matte or eggshell sheen. It will show a bit different on the walls in those sheens, but, will still be the same color and go well. Whites are so tricky, it is most always better to use the same white, in different sheens, to avoid something not looking right.

Patriotic White is quite blue, and the floor color will probably bring that out. I don't know if it clashes with Decorator's White, but I don't particularly like them together (could be personal bias, I tend to prefer warmer whites). Can you wait until after the cabinets are in to decide on the wall paint?

I wouldn't even use Decorator's White on your kitchen cabinets because it's not a warm white. Your wood floors are beautiful and warm. Have you looked at Decorator's White next to the floors? How about Simply White throughout?

Thanks for the comments. Agree that waiting on wall color and backsplash should be last. As for the decor you see in the pictures, none of it is mine really. All that is in there was temporary for when we vacationed there and is now gone since we will do renovations which include: vaulting LR ceiling; new K tile floor,  countertops, and cabinets. Floors are wide pine plank in LR and DR and we have a live edge DR table with a black "industrial farmhouse" light fixture. We will keep island and the silver pendant lights over island. The patriotic white was recommended to me by a designer, but I am feeling I should go with something else. I was thinking BM Morning Dew, but not sure, maybe too warm. I really LOVE the Aloe that's suggested, but can you please explain what you mean "cut by 10-25%?

Thanks lovely people for taking the time to respond. Very nice of you all.

kandrewspa thanks for your comment. I thought about simply white, but it has yellow undertones and I can't stand yellow. Perhaps it is because the entire main areas of the house are painted yellow and I really don't like it. (I do have a yellow accent wall in my current home and love it). I would just be so sad to look at my cabinets and see a "yellow" tinge which is why I am leaning cool. And the tile floor we picked is a "blue/gray". But I appreciate your comment and will speak with my kitchen designer.

I've used Simply White and in my space it does not look yellow. At all. It looks white but not a harsh blue-based white. Why don't you make a sample board with it?

I agree, you need a warm white with that gorgeous pine flooring. IDK about a "blue/gray" tile -- it depends on the tile, if its dark grey it will go well with the wood floor, but if it's blue....oh I would rethink that... FWIW, there was a section of some sort of blue tile in front of the patio door when I bought this house. Was is the operative word here. I hated it and had it removed and hardwood run in to match the rest. Have you thought about running pine into the kitchen? You can have the current floor sanded and refinished, it will look seamless when finished.

Is this the color direction you want to take? It looks terrible and is long gone from my house:

Go with a charcoal color if you want grey tile floors; it will bridge warm and cool.

Mxk3....thanks for your comment. My tile isn't like the one in your picture. It really is a gray. I appreciate your observation about "bridge warm and cool". I did consider the pine throughout, but was vetoed by hubby (which is fine because I have vetoed some of his preferences too😉). I appreciate you taking time to comment.

    Here it is!

It is a lovely combination but it is very beachy. Is that the look you want?

I like Decorator's White with a very, very pale gray, like B.M. Gray Owl.

Or I love, love it with B.M. Linen White.
