In a room like I have shared at the top - as a designer ask yourself how you finish the baseboard detail that meets the glass....... This ackward detail meet swing your vote for a No Baseboard detail.

I am a baseboard lover, but I think this works with the modern design;)

Thanks Margo. Any baseboard would have been seen from the other side of the glass panel as you walk up the stairs. This client wanted all clean lines and I love the look so much.

Thanks for all the votes. Looks like "Love It" wins by popular vote. On my current job we are doing drywall flush with a tiled baseboard.

Just curious - what's the L bead? IS it caulking to seal the wall to floor transition?

Because I just see gunk and crap getting stuck in there and being a pain to sweep/clean. And what about mopping floor - wouldn't that moisture be a problem for the drywall? Even a wrung out mop is wet, or splashing from bucket makes puddles. How quickly would that be a problem?

I think the baseboards would help give the room more dimension. I love it overall, though!

I love the look; another great alternate I have had in an antique apartment was having them painted to match the walls so you get the custom details from a 1906 home but blended into the tall ceilings because they were painted Navajo white.
