are my pendants too close together?

So annoyed. The electrician said it’s where they should be but I totally disagree.

At least in the picture they look too close...sometimes camera does some funky stuff. My electrician stood on the island and had me approve placement...I decided to add pendants after everything was done.

Thank you. I was suffering from a brutal migraine the day he was here and just wanted to get it over with.

The left one looks further from the left edge than the right one fromthe right edge. Is that accurate, or a trick of the camera? The right pendant looks well-positioned, and the left one should move left a few inches.

Nope you’re totally correct. Off by about 1.5”. I never noticed dammit

I can actually move the island. That’s definitely easier than moving lights. But do you think they look ridiculous being so close together?

Ugh now I just remeasured and they seem the same.

No, not ridiculous, just a little crowded. It's possible that the real problem is the pendant size. Your right pendant looks about as close to the right edge of the island as it should go. If the left pendant is spaced the same way, then I think your pendants are probably too big for the table size. What is the length of the island, and the diameter of the pendants?

The length is 71” and the pendants are 14” in diameter.

Have you considered a different style fixture?

Love the shelves you added around the fridge. The pendants are just a bit large. So further apart would have been a bit better. They seem off center to the island, but the upshot you took might just be messing it up completely can you take a straight on picture?

Now since you went over size I would have went with something softer. Personally Ill go back to my old suggestion of one center island light here.

    Here they are moved apart

Ok. Thank you for all the suggestions. Now I just have to convince my husband to let me redo it. The real hard part.

In the overall scheme of things, this is relatively minor. At least it’s not the countertops you’re wanting to redo. I’m going on to my 3rd set in 8 years:)
