Removing rubber gasket for Electrolux washing machine

Hello,

Is the rubber gasket on the Electrolux 627 washing machine removeable? I've tried to clean the washer with various settings, baking soda, and white vinegar. However, there's still a little bit of gunk in the gasket that I don't think I can clean out without taking the gasket out.

Frontloader gaskets (door/tub boots) are removable for replacement in case of tearing or such damage. They're not intended to be removed on a routine basis for cleaning. It can be a bit of an ordeal to do so, with disassembly involved that entails wrestling wlth a spring/wire that anchors the boot to the front panel and a fastener that anchors it to the outer tub, along with typically removing the machine's top and front panel/door. Not something you want to attempt on a whim.

You can remove it but it's not so easy...
