Are all the bulbs the same ? Have you had an electricain out to see if there is an issue in the wiring? I have lights controlled by Alexa and some have a delay turning on but all my bulbs are LED is that one by any chance an LED bulb

Try replacing it with an incandescent bulb.

Get rid of any compact flourecsents anywhere they are horrible lighting and are no longer available in Canada . We have changed all our halogen to LEDs and actully saw the difference in our electric bill . I have never had flourecsent lighting in any home but when I go into a store with it my legs hurt after about 10 mins so obviuosly my body hates it. IMO lighting is so imporatnt in a home that it is the first thing I address for clients .

A quick way to find out would be to swap the bulbs with the one in the next can over. If it's the bulb, it will behave the same in the different can. If it's the can, the currently unaffected bulb will show the delay.

I suspect that you have LED lamps/fixtures and the capacitor (which will store some energy) in the driver, which is used to avoid flickering and will "smoothen" the transition of power supply, is bad or spec'd different than the other fixtures.

All the bulbs are LED.

Will this delay become a bigger circuit issue later?

If the builder put in a dimmer bulb in a regular housing, that could cause the issue.

It's most likely a defective bulb.  Try swapping the location of that bulb with another bulb nearby that doesn't have the delay.  If the problem moves to the new location,  you've confirmed it's a defective bulb.  If the problem stays at the same location when with a different bulb there,  then you need an electrician to check the wiring.

We had two flush mount ceiling fixtures in the basement of our previous home that did this. It was a round LED tube and an Energy saver of type of fixture. There was also one in our rental house. All 3 fixtures had a delay in coming on.

In our current home, we have LED strip lights in 3 closets. All are delayed. In addition, we have fans in the upstairs bedrooms that have a drum shade light fixture attached. They all have a 4 second delay before turning on.

@User Did you get an electrician to take a look? Anything wrong with the wire or the whole circuit?

Did those bulbs stop working sooner than others?

Verna Lee - Nothing wrong with the electrical. That's just how some of the LED bulbs work. For the fan lights, the electrician was not concerned since they all had a slow reaction.

This is not a problem with the house electrical. You either have juice or you don't. It is in how the light converts to low voltage (and sometimes whether a dimmer is compatible, but usually different problems with those). Looks like integral LED cans, you could switch a couple as experimentation, but I don't think it will make a difference.
