I still need pictures of the spaces near here and if you did not want the FP then you need to disconnect everything there including that wrong vent hose. Can we see the exterior of the house in that area ? If the cimney is serving more that just the FP we need to know that. Your inspo pic is not going to work unless you don't mind the whole thing sicking out into the room . You need to know what is in the wall above the FP.
