Please help me choose. Bosch has a cleaner design but it is more expensive has very few reviews as it is a new product. Also Bertazzoni has a nice bundle with the hood which it makes it way cheaper.

I have a Bosch 800 induction cooktop and a Bosch 500 convection oven. Love them both. And I had Bosch in my old condo.

One is back ordered and the other is special order with no ETA. In world-wide conditions of collapsing manufacturing and transport, neither one seems a reliable bet.

Actually home depot has Bosch for immediate delivery, waiting to hear from dealer. Less worried about price as opposed to performance and reliability

You might also compare the Bosch HIS8055U with the LG Studio LSIS3018SS which has a warming element, a warming drawer, a larger oven, and costs $400 less (at Home Depot).

Personally I like the Bertazzoni. IMO it looks better and has two higher wattage elements than the Bosch, not to mention it less expensive.

I was at Best Buy w/ Pacific Sales the other day and they had the Bosch pro range on display. Seemed like a nice build overall, but I noticed something with the knobs. When you're standing at the range and look down, the bullnose hides the knobs. The knobs seem to be a bit shallower than the other pro ranges they had on display (Mongram, Thermador, Miele), and I think those had printing on the knob itself. The Bosch printing is on the flat surface instead. Not a huge issue because you generally know what you're controlling without looking, but figured I'd share my observation.

Looks great! Best of luck with it.

The Industrial Bosch looks really nice with its flush front! Cook-timed hobs are one of my favorite features on the Bosch Benchmark induction range. I'm curious to know if that feature is available on the Industrial model, as I could not decipher that in the product description? From what I can see, your kitchen looks really nice!

Bosch hands down. Bertas are questionable quality and not every repair place works on them. Be sure to check your wiring and breaker. You may need to rewire with a new home run circuit for either.

@Ryan B: "When you're standing at the range and look down, the bullnose hides the knobs..."

Oh, that's a serious deficiency. The Bosch HIS8055U cooktop extends 1-9/16" over the the control panel, completely hiding the knobs below it as shown in this photo:

Fortunately the LG LSE4617ST doesn't share this deficiency:

WD the LG isn't even in the same league as the Bosch and that LG is just plain ugly. We know you always go for the cheapest you can find but not everyone needs or wants to go with the cheapest.

    OP that range is beautiful.

Now, now, 'cp' -- let's not pick on 'wd.' 8-)

@cpartist: "WD the LG isn't even in the same league as the Bosch and that LG is just plain ugly."

What good does it do to have a range from which you have to step away to see its controls because you can't see them when you're standing in front? And in what way is the Bosch range "better"? No warming drawer, no warming element, smaller oven. But costing $1100 more it's not the cheapest! Yay! More $ for fewer features!

Bosch induction has a good record of reliability. The cooktops have 17 levels of output control. I'd like to know how the level control is managed on this new unit. I read the manual without getting an answer.

I've been using the range for 2 days and have explored most of it's features. Induction performance is sharp, our cooking time has reduced dramatically for most foods. The oven performance is also excellent, baking and broiling to perfection. Before buying I had also considered going with a new cabinet and putting in the Bosch 800 induction cooktop with the 800 wall oven for a clean look because I was worried any range would stick out of my cabinets.

The 800 industrial range I bought is definitely less feature rich. For e.g there is no timer and auto shutoff for the cooktop, no wifi connectivity, highly simplified touch screen. It has induction power boost and 3 preset warming and cooking modes, but no autochef or flex. On the plus side, the construction just top notch. It's sitting right next to my new Bosch 800 French door refrigerator (which btw is also beautiful) and I can see the material of the range is of better quality and finish. The lack of writing on the front face gives it a clean look (I found the Bertazzoni look very busy), though a little inconvenient until you get used to it. The display is tilted and visible, but I really wish Bosch had done a better job by clearly displaying in words the oven mode the knob is in (it has crude and unclear indicative diagrams instead). My takeaway thus far is (1) solid performance combined with premium looks and construction compared to existing Bosch 800 series in general (wall oven, range, frig, cooktop etc) (2) 25% cheaper than the oven+cooktop combo but comparable to standard Bosch 800 induction range (3) could have been "smarter" at this price point but I guess Bosch wants to keep the higher end features for Benchmark series.

I think the Bosch 800 industrial design is inspired by Wolf and Miele. It follows the same clean no fuss front face and flush seating into the cabinets. At half the price of these 2 premium ranges, if it is works reliably, it's a great product! Throw in HomeDepot's 5 days lead time for the Bosch vs 1 year for the other 2, it was a no brainer for me. Evern Bertazzoni has 4-6 weeks lead time My whole family is in love with our new buy :-)

I saw the owner's manual listing for the 3 warming levels. How many additional levels do you have. The highest should be Boost.

    It has 3 warming levels - W1, W2, W3; 9 regular levels 1 - 9 and a boost level which auto shuts off in 10 minutes. Grand total = 14.

That looks beautiful, and I can’t believe you got it so quickly! I’ve been waiting a year for my GE Cafe range with still no ETA, so I’m starting to look at what else is out there. This one is a consideration for sure.

@stiley the pictures don't do it justice. It looks even better in real life. The cooking baking and roasting experience has been awesome too. Check HomeDepot lead time - it's certainly worth a consideration.

kevinande Does your Bert not whistle when you use the oven? My PROF304INSXT drives me CRAZY and plan on returning it. The cooling fan (not the convection fan) kicks on at around 200F and then stays on after shutting off the oven until it cools again. It lets out this whistle that sounds like when you blow over the top of a soda bottle.

    Hello Dimitri.

I don't own the model in question, but I am sorry to hear your unit is making noises that you find uncomfortable. It seems to me the manufacturer would not make a unit with an obvious issue such as that which make me think you may have just gotten one with a defect of some sort. Is returning it or swapping for another unit an option?

Yeah, it’s going back to the store on Saturday. I really wanted to love it. Pretty face, works well, but migraine-inducing. I think I might go for the Bosch freestanding 800 for about a grand less. Definitely not as good looking, but if it’s anything like my dishwasher, it’ll be great

@Dimitri Katsaros: "I think I might go for the Bosch freestanding 800 for about a grand less."

I don't understand the weird Bosch HIS8055U ($4400) cooktop whose bullnose blocks ones view of the control knobs below it. The LG Studio LSIS3018SS ($3900) doesn't suffer from this deficiency.

wdccruise The bullnose won't bug us... We've had bad experiences with an LG Fridge in the past, so that's why it wasn't under consideration.

The induction stove does have a slight hissing noise but it's soft and doesn't bother me. The oven just has the usual convection fan noise when I use it in convection mode. If I just do a normal bake or roast it's just super quiet. The overall performance of both the induction stove and the oven is simply top notch. I love how quick and responsive the induction stove is and the quality of my cooking has definitely been  enhanced. I've been using the Bosch range for over 3 months now and it continues to impress.

@Dimitri Katsaros: "We've had bad experiences with an LG Fridge in the past "

LG refrigerators and ranges have as much to do with one another as its washers/televisions/computers and ranges.

wdccruise It’s wasn’t so much as how our LG fridge failed as it was how LG handled the warranty for our location. I don’t want to get into it, but it was kind of a nightmare.

For the largest element, how wide is the actual heating diameter when you use a large pan? Is the power level readout easy to see?

We are considering getting a second replacement induction range after our beloved original GE (from 2011) died from a massive power surge last winter. We got a kitchenaid and hate it, for among other reasons that the actual heating is significantly smaller than the marked circles. Trying to avoid that again!

The largest heating element isn't as large as I would have liked. My LeCreuset 13-in braiser does not heat up towards the edges. But overall it's quite powerful. The power level readout is easy to use. The writing on the knobs is hard to read but that makes the faceplate look clean and as you use it on a daily basis you tend to learn it very quickly.

I noticed the 30" Bosch industrial does not have a bridge burner. Is this feature necessary or are the 4 burners on the 30" sufficient?

I’ve had my Bosch induction cooktop now for 8 years and still love it!

Unfortunately it does not have a bridge burner. It does get challenged with a 13-in pan at the edge. The problem is less obvious when I use a cast iron pan because of its powerful conduction and heat retention. When I use a thinner non-stick or steel pan I can clearly see that the edges are not heating up. I don't use large pans very often as we are a small family. This is a limitation that I can live with. The Bosch looks great in my kitchen and it performs very well in general. So far I'm very happy.

With the Bosch Industrial are you happy with the oven? The racks do not glide and are hard to pull out. I like everything else about the construction of this range and not sure if this should be a reason to go with something else? Why didn't Bosch put in higher quality racks in an otherwise beautiful range?

Bosch has taken many shortcuts to position the product as entry level. Considering the price of the higher end Wolf & Miele, I personally find the Bosch industrial range a solid product. But yes, telescopic racks would've been nice.

Any experience with the broiler on the Bosch 800 36" induction range? Something i read elsewhere indicated the broiler might be sort of ineffectual. Since a bad broiler is one of the reasons for us to get a new range, I want to make sure that we dont just get another underpowered one that never browns anything!

@Beth Perot. I use the broiler on my Bosch Benchmark, it works fine.

    Hi Priya,

How is the oven fan? There are so many reviews saying it’s the loudest they’ve ever heard. It’s making me nervous as we have also purchased this unit.

Also, would you be able to take a side view photo of the range? How deep are your cabinets? Does the range stick out a lot?

    Thank you!

    Hi Maria

The oven fan does not bother me. It is not overly loud I think but I don't have much to compare it with. Here is a side view picture that you requested. Hope it helps.
