The lack of enzymes also plagues Miele detergent for Colors powder as it also only contains two. I am very disappointed with Miele USA, Miele Germany, or both, who decided that the folks in the USA only need two enzymes, while they are selling the same named products in 23 other countries containing six enzymes. It is not like folks in the USA don’t have the same type of soil such as fats, and fruit juice to deal with.

True many of us have washer cycles that don’t last 3 hours, but most people with a Miele washer and other front loader brands have washes that should last enough time to utilize enzymes. I think this is particularly important given that lower wash temperatures are being used.

I searched the web for 2022 detergent reviews and Consumers Reports, Reviewed.com, and Good Housekeeping rated Persil Proclean as their top pick for 2022, with Tide coming in second. The trick with Proclean is to dose way, way less than the instructions say. The Persil Smart Label shown on the Proclean website shows that it contains at least five enzymes including those for fats and fruit juice. Miele might not think the USA needs more than 2 enzymes but it looks like the Henkel company sees a benefit.

I made the original post regarding this issue and I am also deeply disappointed in Miele. With the prices they charge for their powder detergents in the US, $35 a box or over 2.5x as much per ounce as Tide powder, there is no excuse for a cut-rate formula. It is also quite sad and cynical they they feel the US deserves lower quality products than the European market, especially given that their detergents cost much more here.

I am particularly concerned, especially given that they are falsely advertising UltraColor powder as having seven enzymes, when in fact it only has two, that they are also lying about how many enzymes other of their detergents have in the US. In particular UltraPhase 1 does not yet have its ingredients listed online, which is in violation of California law. It states on the product page that it contains 7 enzymes but I see no reason to trust Miele on this now. I would like to know if it doesn’t so that I can change to a different detergent, especially for the fabric-care benefit of cellulase enzymes. The same concerns apply to the UltraDark sold in the US.

Miele’s not posting ingredients for all their detergents is very low hanging fruit for a costly enforcement action for their many violations of the California Cleaning Product Right to Know Act. I hope that one way or another they honestly disclose their ingredients to their US customers and provide us with the same formulas as they sell in Europe.

I would complain to Miele USA but their outsourced customer service is so laughably horrible, as attested to by screenshots of emails elsewhere in this forum, that, unless somebody knows a better avenue or contact to whom to complain, I’m not sure there’s any point…

Write directly to the CEO in New Jersey in the United States and that will avoid dealing with customer service. It might have to be done via regular mail.

Just refill empty twindos cartridge with tide or persil. Been using Tide Purclean for years in TwinDos, zero issues. Its also less than half the price.
