Improved Blaze or not?

My next door neighbor (whom I have told to come in to our garden any time she wants to take some cuttings of roses) called me to ask what this rose was, when it was only showing 2 buds. She said she had gotten the cutting from my plant of 'Crimson Glory', but could not remember exactly where it was growing. The CG is still there, but not blooming at the moment. When I saw the several blooms open, I thought of the other red rose I had growing nearby, which was 'Improved Blaze". That one is gone from our garden, but I looked it up, and it looks just like her rooted pant to me. What do you think? My CG is a red which is much more towards the blue part of the spectrum, whereas as I recall my IB was more towards orange. She is planning on planting it under an arbor it can grow on, and as both roses are climbers and like our climate, I told her to just go ahead and plant it, and it would be happy. Just looking for confirmation or denial of this rose being Improved Blaze, so I can tell her.

Jackie, I can't be sure which one the photo is, but I can give you a couple of things to compare. Blaze is more likely to open fully and expose the stamens. CG is the more fragrant of the two (for me, BI has very little scent). CG usually has white stripes on the inner-most petals, which you have to manually peel the inner petals open to see. I'm not so sure on this next one without going to check, but I *think* the leaves of BI are a little more jagged, with more pronounced teeth/serrations. I can't remember about the gloss/shininess/matte quality of the leaves, but since you grow both, that would be another thing to check and cross reference with the mystery rose. Sorry I can't help more, but I'd need photos where I could check the qualities I've mentioned. Hope this helps, even though it's kind of indirect, lol.

fig_instanity - Thank you so much! I don't grow BI anymore because we had to take it off of our house (Fire Dept), and I had other better loved climbers to fit into my new garden. However, I found a photo of BI when we did grow it, and it certainly does look like the new one in the pot to me. Does this photo help? Oh, I still have CG - the second photo below is CG. Would really like you opinion.

If I were making a guess based on color and the exposed stamens and lack of striping on the inner petals, I would say the young plant is Blaze Improved.

Yes, she did, but she could not remember which rose she took the cutting from, except that it was "red". I have told her (since there were only 2 choices) that it is Blaze, Improved. She had thought it was CG, and had a trellis for it to climb on. I told her it was BI, but that is a climber, so she could put it on the same trellis. I expect that she will be back to get a cutting of Crimson Glory now...
