Match it to your garage door

My thought was both^^…black or match it to the garage door. Cute house!

A version of the garage door color. If budget allows consider changing posts to square similar to your pretty light post.

I would explore the many shades of green in your gorgeous landscaping to tie it to its surroundings.

As a few others have said, I'd either go with black or match your garage door! I have a slight preference towards black (probably biased because I have a black front door!), especially if you paint the trim black in between the door and the sidelights like in the mockup below. I also like that the black door sort of mirrors the black house numbers on your light post, while the brown railings on your porch still connect visually with the brown garage door. Feels like a good balance of colors to me.

I think the option above looks a lot cleaner vs keeping the current inner white trim (see mockup below), but both are solid choices.

Lastly, here's a version that matches your garage door. Definitely a great option as well - and FWIW, my husband said this one was his favorite when I showed him these mockups!

I prefer black to garage-color, but honestly, I'd like something lighter, given the overhang. I'd follow the green or maybe a blue direction...

I would try to match the garage door, but I’d definitely change the door style! I do like chloebud’s idea pic, or pnwmirabeth’s. And yes, if you can, think about changing the posts to a squared, cleaner style.

Definitely match the garage door color but not with that Victorian door you have. One option would be to remove the oval glass, cut out the rectangle its mounted in and have new glass put in that matches your windows with muntins, saving the door but changing the look. Agree that your pencil posts need beefing up, and I'm not a fan of ball hedges, especially when they appear to block access to the house.

Thank you for these great suggestiona, what would you instead of the ball hedges?

I would check with a local nursery (not a big box store) and see if they have a pro who would help you plan a refresh of the landscaping with plants that do well in your area and have a less formal look to them to help the house look more friendly and less barricaded with bushes. If you're handy with gardening, you can DIY the installation over time. Some things can go in the ground now and others closer to spring.
