I don't recognize the drain - do you know what it is? It almost looks like the drains for fiberglass shower pans. Was this a remodel/new construction?

Blue is Mapei Mapeheat mat with red heat cable. Light blue at the bottom is the new formulation of AquaDefense. The drain body doesn't look like any bonding flange drain I've seen though.

Ok, looking at it a bit more, it actually looks more like a damaged Wedi pan than AquaD, but the brass drain is still throwing me. What does your contractor say the problem is?

A Wedi pan wouldn't have a liner, but obviously shouldn't leak either. Might be worth having a conversation with a rep once you confirm materials used.
