Did you mean Bermuda shutters? If so, I think that's way too coastal-looking for your home. I see no reason you couldn't add window boxes to the front of the house on the first floor, for added floral color.

Love Bermuda shutters or awnings, but not for your house. Landscaping and lighting would be a better bet to be less "cookie-cutter." this one may be a bit overboard, but the roof lines remind me of yours.

I don’t know about the shutters.
But, reading Dallas, south -facing , I am cautious about boxwoods- though I haven’t researched which varieties might be working out there, in Texas full sun, I “ been to Dallas”. This past summer was brutal. Also window boxes- conditions might be difficult for year- round interest and tidiness. Tough in- ground plantings are usually best for survival and so more likely to set off your house. Possibly some larger containers with the most tolerant stuff or that can be switched out.
