Trying to post pictures but having difficulty.

Use pots instead with seasonal plants , much easier to plant and lots of variety during the year.

Interesting idea. Would like some evergreen interest in winter though. Maybe a tiered bed would give me more surface area. I'm stumped!

Keep trying with the photographs. It isn’t possible to visualise the situation without them. And also give your geographical location.

Of course you can and it's the better plan anyway.

I cringe when I see the words "foundation beds" because it implies plants planted right next to the foundation- don't do that!

Your plants need to be away from the house for many reasons- to get out from under any eaves/all the rainfall, to deter pests traveling, to be able to access the entire structure for painting and window washing, etc.

So pull the "bed" out away from the house and use lots of sweeping curves when you do it- no straight lines or corners.

I would not make such an assertion until I had seen the garden in question. Sometimes straight lines and corners are perfectly appropriate. See the garden in this post.

Very tough to give advice without a pic.

I must say, I've see lots of photoshopped gardens that look really good, but which are clearly out of proportion to the space, or otherwise ignore some aspect of the site that's will prevent realization.

Use something low-growing. You can try grasses or heathers. But there are dwarf flowering shrubs, too.

Point taken, lol, but I seriously doubt a "a tiny house with an even smaller bare front "landscape bed" " is going to be an estate sized formal garden, which is where straight lines belong.

But we'll wait for photos.

A tiny house with a tiny front garden can be just the place for straight lines. It depends on the house and you don’t need a stately home. Formality could be exactly what is needed. Without a picture I don’t think one can make any rules.
