2 or 3 CM quartz ? I like a simple eased edge on any counter material

Thank you Patricia, We have not made the thickness decision yet either (talking to the fabricator tomorrow who is going to order the slabs). The kitchen is medium size, I believe when I saw the slab it was 2 cm. Do you see any advantage or disadvantage to the 3 cm?

My husband likes a full bullnose. I didn't know that meant less chipping.

Straight ease and polish. No bullnose. No oggee. Keep it farmhouse simple....and 3 cm

Jan, is a full bullnose a bad thing? We don't have any, but as I said, my husband likes them and we planned one for a 36" vanity. Are they just "contemporary" or is there a problem with them?

I haven't seen or used a bullnose since about 1990 and that was granite . So no.......I wouldn't. Yes ...at that time they were frequently found in contemporary settings, just as an ogee was found in very traditional settings. Ask any fabricator if you don't believe me : ) You need 3 cm for either to look good........and 3 cm straight ease is good on either but even better on 3cm. Bonus? Easy clean.

Oh, yeah…I cringe at that sharp edge on the ogee! And I do associate them with traditional. Thanks so much for informing me that a full bullnose is contemporary. You made me realize nobody ever told me I had a choice in countertop thickness.

If you'd like a chip factory installed in your home, take Jan's advice. Chew marks around the sink? My favorite and guaranteed.

In have no chips in any install, Joe. : ) Sorry. Nobody is all that delicately careful, either. I wouldn't ruin the look of the tops, or send them back decades.

If you routinely drop/bang everything you touch ? That's different . But in that scenario? Do granite.

Eased edge. I never do any other sort of edge for countertops. Save the ogee and beveled edges for French Country kitchens. And bullnose never looks good, IMO.

@Elle what did you end up doing? Any pictures?
