Red Oak Refinish Help

Looking for some help refinishing our hardwood floors. We’ve done it before, so felt fairly confident tackling it again ourselves.

122 year old home with all red oak on main floor. They sanded down beautifully. We liked the lighter tones so much, we decided to keep them light. We created an oil based stain blend that included some gray and green to help tone down some of the red/orange. It took forever to get it right. So happy with the color. Stained and waited one week.

THEN……this morning we applied a coat of Bona Classic Sealer (knowing it would warm it up a bit from our sample). We were okay with that on our sample. BUT now it is so yellow/orange.

Once I dried my tears, I rented the sander again. I can sand again and reapply my satin mixture. My question is this, can I skip the Bona Classic Sealer and go right to the Traffic hd after stain has dried 3-4 days? If I do, will it change the color? Or, do I need to order the Bona Natural Sealer?

This will be my third sand. We tried Bona sealer without stain, and it was way too pink the first time. I think I can muster the energy to do this one more time. Ugh.
