Center the table on the wall. Do not hang anything else on the wall. No mirror. Decorate the tabletop. The table is rustic, and the wainscoting is traditional so try to combine the 2 in decor.

Try turning that mirror sideways or using a rectangular mirror that fits under the sconce. I like your objets.

i think I'd use are rather than a mirror, unless you really like those spindles. A vertical or square picture on the left, and a grouping on the right along the lines of what you have...

take the cover off of the light fixture. loosing the mounting bracket, turn it a horizontal. center the table to the light fixture. I would not use a mirror. In reality when you do re do the lighting, I would consider moving that up and making it an art light, or removing it altogether and moving that electrical to the plug position.. It would be very easy to take down now, and put a cover plate over it. then you could really do what you want.

Contrary to what others have said, I like the idea of a mirror in an entryway. Guests can check hair after coming in from the wind, straighten an outfit after removing a coat, or align a hat or scarf prior to departure. Just make sure the mirror is mounted at the proper height for it to be useful. Yours looks a bit low where it is placed in the picture.

Why not get the sconce removed? Is there any reason you would want it in the future?

A large mirror and lamp/s or a large piece of art would work.

I’d remove the sconse’s shade, center console and due to its prorportions and wall space, suggest two large prints hung vertically, which will cover the electrical. Also suggest removing stools and maybe rethink the accessories. If there is a ceiling light, look to complement the console and a rug is always a nice touch.

Some really great suggestions and ideas. I'd never thought of turning the sconce, but had considered removing it. However, we do sometimes use that light. 

Here are photos of the rest of the space as well as some inspiration pictures. I really like the primrose mirror but want a balance between traditional and some simple pieces.

Hang a vertical rectangular gold framed mirror to the left of the sconce. Hang a smaller square or horizontal rectangular frame print under the sconce. Then play around with placement of your table top objects. The color and texture of those stool are fantastic. What a lovely entry space.

Ours has a built-in niche that causes limitations on furniture and seating in the foyer. Here are pix from different angles - perhaps some ideas.

A light fixture like this would solve the issue. I like jck910’s idea of just one item for the table top. An overly staged vignette looks very cluttered to me.

If you don’t need the light from that sconce, remove it and put a blank plate over it (after you wire nut the ends and disconnect the switch.). Then you have opened up a lot of options.

This idea maybe too late if you have bought console and ottomans, but I would have nothing on the floor..just let the lovely paneling stand on its own.

The sconce in the middle of the wall...perfect. Add art , landscape shape and hang it right under the sconce which will act as a down light.

Judianna20 that's a really good point! We love the paneling, the items are from our previous house. I think we'll move them else where in the home.

Perhaps then should we put a smaller closed in console table settee or bench in front of the railing to downstairs?
