I have a guest staying and trying to make this suite as comfortable as possible. This is my first attempt with this type of project. All feedback is welcomed!

Thanks

Fun project...are you keeping the mural and black curtains at both ends of the room? Lighter weight and lighter colored curtains would be nice in here. I feel two different vibes here, but I understand if you are trying to use what you have. I like the mural and the art over the bed, but the mural is airy and nods to the colorful patio while the other seems heavy - which, when grouped with the bed and nightstands, works in a different room. I think a watercolor would go nicely. I assume the other set of curtains are acting as a room divider? Here are some thoughts...

If you want the wall above the bed to remain "white," it should be the same white as the trim and doors IMO. I thought a bedskirt might improve the look of the bed...

If the curtains are staying, painting the entire wall black to match them might work...

You also want a place for guests to store overnight bags like a luggage rack, armoire, closet. It's nice they have their own tv, bathroom, kitchenette and access to patio.

You could also paint the entire wall white. It just makes the brown furniture stand out more. You could create balance by adding a brown dresser, luggage rack, etc.

YES! White background and watercolor. I love it!

I will order a bed skirt.

I was thinking about getting a bench/ottoman on the side wall where the art is.

I have the hanger on the wall for their clothes and will eventually revamp the closet and give them access to that. They could also put things under the bed.

I have a black room drapes dividing the room on the other side. I can change the color of the drapes to the side of the bed if necessary. I thought black worked well to block all light.

I think the table lamps could change too. Any thoughts?

Oh! I didn't realize how much we could change. I kind of feel like the wood furniture needs a warmer accent wall behind it. We can play around with curtains and pillows, and you can get blackout fabric or liners for curtains if the windows allow more light in than desired. You might consider woven blinds to bring in more of the wood tone. New lamps would be fun. I'll look around a bit.

Maybe you'd prefer more subtle art that doesn't compete so much with the mural, and let an accent pillow bring the fun. There are zillions of fun pillows, I just grabbed one with tropical leaves on it to pair with a boho lumbar pillow. I used white lamps, but there are zillions of those as well.

Not sure if yellow goes with your carpet, but thought I'd try bringing in that color from your mural...

I like those white lamps. I will look for some! The walls where the windows are were just painted black

I don't know why I thought the wall behind the curtains was green.

    Fun lamp shades on etsy...

If the bed wall is going to be black and white, you should probably repeat the theme in the room for balance, perhaps a bench at the foot of the bed or a chair against the mural wall. I wouldn't do both in the stripes, but food for thought. It's good to repeat a color in a room to keep things in balance. For instance, if you wanted to repeat the yellow, you might add a decorative object with some yellow in it on the table under the tv. Or a yellow trash can in the kitchen haha. Many have been able to find great furniture and home decor deals on Facebook Marketplace.

Maybe something with animals or fringe or an unexpected color...

You could add aged brass or more wood to the room with a mirror and/or floor lamp next to chair to bring a warm balance to the wood toned furniture. Or use the striped bench and a stained wood (unpainted) chair.
