I would personally choose the one that shows the bulb the least... Not a fan of looking into a bare bulb, especially at night.

i thought against clear glass, but stifgled to find anyrhing in an opal/ frosted glass that looked nice. i have recessed lights , so the pendant are for ambent lighitng only ,they will be on a dimmer, so hopefully i wont have an issue . never had pendant lights before, so this is new territoty for me

Would you consider something with more color?

I’m hesitant towards the glass because you can see the light bulb. And because it gets dusty. Noticeably.

White glass sounds lovely! I’ll look around.

I also think some color would add a nice element. But what’s your comfort zone?

im not interested in colored glass, as its too commital and pendant lights arent as easy to change as say paint, window treatments , rugs etc, whcih is where i plan to add blue/ grey color .

Ive seen ones like that, it is nice, im jist not sure if it will look right, as i have my dining room chandelier that is now visible because we took the wall done between mitchen and DR, so it is one large combo space now .

So hard not being able to actually see in the space. matbe it would look okay, i jsit feel like i dont know!!

Thank you RL Yes.. i am not ordering anything until the rest is in place, but i like to have a few possible options in place so that when the time comes to order, im not starting from dquare 1. the only thing i know for sure is the countertop, as that has been ordered and to be installed in 2 weeks but until it is installed , im not choosing a backsplash or the cabinet white color the backsplash and cabinet i i have shown in the pic is a possible first choice, but i have other sampels here as well to consider. your advice is good, as thar is how i am going about it. Its the best way to do it for sure!

Given the kitchen is now open to your traditional dining room (and its chandelier lol), suggest trying to find something that is leaning towards classic vs modern.

If open to one long style, your options will increase and something like below might work well with the dining room.

the second pendnat is actually the same exact glads as the round choice i posted, but in a diffent shaoe. we really like that glass best out of the samples we brought home. its called water glass and it also comes in the shape you posted in addition to the round. the globe shape just looked really pretty and i thought the round may be nice with tthe round back dining chairs i have. The one you posted may even be from the same company- innovation lighting (?) i saw that on display in the store. the water glass looks really pretty both with and without light .

A nice combination of modern/traditional, with a unique shape and seeded glass.

Does anyone actually like transparent glass pendants? You've basically got naked bulbs casting light 360 degrees. Seems like the light might be ugly and in your eyes?

Robb, i dont like completely plain clear glass pendants. the ones im thinking of have hammering/ etching/ dimensional designs to them. however, there must be a lot of people that do like plain clear glass, as there are a wealth to choose from offered from a multiude of companies . someones gitta be buying them 🤷‍♀️
