I have an old house that had a very wet basement. We are paying off this house in the one next door and then once the houses are paid off, we're going to tear them down and combine the two properties and Bill Darden forever home... So I'm not looking to do an expensive job, I'm just trying to Jimmy rig something to get us by...
My basement is oh, from what we can talk, part dirt and parts cement... What I am trying to do is lay down drainage pipe underneath the floor oh, and make them both run and connect to the sump pump hole, hopefully drying out the basement a little because all of the water comes up through the floor... Both where there is dirt and where there is cement... I'm trying to keep the cost at a minimum, so that is where we came up with the idea of digging out the basement floor in two different areas that run the length of the basement and run the drainage pipe over to the sump pump hole, and I want to make sure I use the right drainage pipe... Because we're going to be filling Stone around the pipe and capping the top off with a new layer of 2 or 3 in cement, what would be the cheapest kind of drainage pipe that I would be able to use?
