Layout interior design dilemma

Hello everyone.

I'm updating my old bungalow. I have two options:

Option 1. Leave layout as is. Remove half of the wall in the living room. Make it look more open.

Add patio door to the master bedroom.

Option 2. Remove wall between kitchen and master bedroom and covert it to a living room.

Add a patio door.

Convert existing living room to a master bedroom.

Layout images are attached.

Second option might be more expensive, but is it worth remodeling?

Don't mind the furniture on the images, they are just random.

I would put the patio doors in the existing master and leave the rest alone. That half wall by the door is very nice to have, so front door isnt right in the existing living room. I see no need to spend a lot of money rearranging rooms, when the arrangement you have looks like it works just fine.

I like the general idea of layout #2, but I wouldn't want the master bedroom to be right next to the front door. Put the MB in the lower left corner, and shift everything to the right. Or, you could convert this to a two-bedroom and have an en suite bathroom for the master.

Yes, I have the same concern with the master bedroom being close to the front door.

I love renovating to space work with how I live so #2 makes more sense to me since I really dislike bedrooms next to kitchens and I also think a better kitchen would be my choice. I would have so many questions if you were my client. Do you need 3 bedrooms, is this your "forever" home what kind of budget do you have? If it was my house I would combine the two smaller bedrooms in the master do the front on for guests and get a much larger kitchen but I just realized you have no DR so I need a bit more info as to family size for sure. I would be tempted to do an addition off the back to give me a bigger kitchen and an actual DR so basically an addition that would line up with the garage across the whole back of the bedroom and kitchen .
