In our recent remodel I asked that our stackable washer and dryer be placed on rollers to make it easier to get them in and out for service etc as the space is very tight. I did not realize that the vibration of the machines would make the washer and dryer move forward, causing the magnetic dryer vent to disconnect on occasion and the washer/dryer to make it harder to open the door to our backyard.

What does the rear wall of the washer dryer closet back onto? Ours backed onto a linen closet so we framed out a nice access panel in order to reach our shutoffs and our duct cleanout. I would do this again in a heartbeat — I’d even hang a picture or mirror over the hole if I had to. Such peace of mind.

MizLizzie thanks for this feedback. The back of that wall would be right into our dining room. I suppose we could do a cutout and hang a big framed photo. That gives me something to think about

I have furniture mover discs under the legs of both my washer and dryer, and they aren't even stacked. Yes, washer occasionally moves during spin cycles, but can easily put back in position.

Stacking ones are a much bigger issue.
