Mirage Engineered Flooring - has anyone installed/would you recommend?

In the process of deciding on a new floor for the first floor of my home and love the Mirage Engineered White Oak Isla - Exclusive Brushed. Has anyone installed this in their home/would you recommend? (pictures greatly appreciated if you have any!!)

Many of the flooring stores I have gone to carry Mirage + claim them to be one of the top flooring manufacturers in terms of durability. However, some of the reviews I have read online state otherwise. Looking for some real experience/feedback on how it has held up in people's homes.

Does anyone have Mirage engineered flooring in their home? Please share your experience and I would love to see pictures of it in your home! Thank you!

I get quite a bit of "we have Mirage samples" or Carlisle. I have no qualms about Mirage as they have always been a higher quality manufacturer, but a number of comments with their finish sheen looking too fake or a plastic look. Carlisle on the other hand. I don't know what happened to them (more marketing than the original company) but the wear layer is thinner than in the past and prices are out of sight.

I had looked at Mirage when picking engineered wood floors for our new build. I didn't like the finish on the Mirage and also though they had a plastic look. My other issue with them was that their mid-tone browns all seemed to have a strong maroon/wine colored undertone. This was 2 years ago so they might have come out with new colors/finishes since then.

Following! We are considering the same flooring too and would love to see installed photos.

Did you end up installing Mirage? I’m considering it also. Any photos?

We installed Mirage Isla. Very happy with our choice.

@MGdecor any issues with wear and tear early on? We are considering Mirage muse also.

We have mirage solid hw in kitchen, living, dining, and entry. We love it! The cashmere finish hides so much. Lots of activity with dogs and kids and it looks so good. 5 years.

Janna, the Muse collection looks stunning! I don't think it was around when we were selecting our floors. We've had our floors for almost a year and no issues. One time I dropped my heavy iron on the floor and it did make a little dent, but otherwise we are very happy. Good luck!

Thanks so much, the reviews for Mirage are so mixed. We were considering Mirage vs. DuChateau

Any comments on Mirage Dreamville Collection. I am considering buying this collection is solid wood which is cheaper than the same thing except in engineered wood. Has anyone had moisture problems with Mirage in solild wood?

I am looking at Mirage Floor Dreamville Collection in solid hardwood over enginerred because sold wood is cheaper in this case. Has anyone had any issues with their soldid hardwood, like dents, scratches, warping, cuttling, or moisture issues. Any advise would be helpful.

@hime, the main questions you need to answer are your location, HVAC and moisture control and your sub floor (cement slab, crawlspace or basement).

I built in a hot/humid climate on a cement slab, so the best option was engineered wood floors. We run AC year round and also have dehumidifiers, because even engineered wood floors require a specific range of moisture levels for optimum performance.

In our previous homes in CA and in the northeast we had site finished red oak floors and they performed just fine with proper HVAC for the different seasons.

I live in southern Maryland and the solid wood Mirage floors will be installed on 1st and 2nd level and not in the basement. I currently have Bruce Hardware solid wood floors for the past 25 years and never had any problems in gapping or warping. I have central air and gas heat in all 3 levels. I read that I should buy a hygrometer to see the humidity level in my house. Also, would it be better to install hardwood floors between October and March when you are using your gas heat as oppose in the summer months. Thoughts.

Correction: I have Bruce Hardwood floos and not Bruce Harware. Sorry

We have Mirage Muse in Eleanor. Stunning floors, beautiful color (to us) and love the ultra matte finish. No scratches so far but all our furniture have felt pads underneath

We are considering Mirage Muse Collection specifically in Hattie or Alice! They are the two large ones in the middle. We want the exclusive version so it has minimal knots. Anyone have these installed?

@Amyandmby would you be able to share a photo of your floor? We are considering Eleanor too! Have to pick by Tuesday.

  • last month

@Merck not the exclusive grade but we ordered extra boxes and removed the planks with big knots

  • last month

@Merck We installed Mirage Muse Rachel, Exlusive. Whichever brand of flooring you go with, be sure to order a box to preview it and lay the planks out in your lighting. Do not rely on store display samples to be an accurate representation of the current run or of what’s in stock.

are you happy with yiur color choice? what width did you go for (just curious)? thank you

@Amyandmby could you please share a picture of the floors. Thanks much !

@Mgdecor is the Isla floor lighter than how it shows in the pic

This photo is taken next to a large window. The floor colour closer to the walkway is a more accurate true color. There is zero grey, definitely all warm tones. Hope this helps!
