Consumer Reports has ratings of wireless security cameras ($10/month digital).

My company installs cameras. Virtually all wireless cameras are less than perfect. Install wired POE cameras if at all possible and you'll never regret it. With that said, Reolink is pretty good and fairly reliable. Just remember most wireless cameras only record on what they determine to be motion. Ones with some kind of AI to determine if thats a person, dog, etc is very important if you plan to use notifications to alert you of activity. Personally I would not use cameras like Ring or Nest inside my house as they are too prone to data collection IMHO. Stick with companies that do JUST cameras and are not owned by a Google or Amazon type company.

CR tested the Reolink Argus 2E:

• "Lacks person alerts so expect more false motion alert notifications"
• Rated low for data privacy

I don't know what country you live in. But depending on the country, there may be some things that need to be considered when cameras are used outside of your home. Please do not forget about data protection in your country if you install cameras for surveillance in the gym!

Thanks, Luca. I live in the USA. I wanted to get a camera in case some falls of a machine and gets injured. I ended up buying the Arlo Pro 4.

@wdccruise, LOL, you're quoting old reviews...with full generation old cameras. Check Argus3, not 2. ALL have AI person/car detection. BTW, All wifi cameras are bad...some are just less bad.

The Reolink Argus 2E is sold today (11/25) by Walmart and Amazon. CR recommends other cameras. ("LOL": the valley-girl-speak of written communications.)
