Need help with kitchen layout. Super small kitchen…

Trying to fit a range, sink under window, dishwasher beside sink and refrigerator in this space with 4 doorways. Wondering where the best placement would be for the range and refrigerator. 😏 Thanks for any ideas you have !

Can we get a whole room size please? As in it's x by x rectangle. Also, since it seems your wall sides are different measurements, could you give us measurements for the doorways and window as well?

A photo of the kitchen please

put something vertical with a side panel on the right wall...the 69 inches... you will block off the bathroom entry issues with a tall side of a pantry cab for example.. or broom closet..etc. .you can wrap these 60 plus inch sides and go across the back wall for a long U shape kitchen.......... range to right of window.....fridge on left wall [ 67 inches avail] and your sink under window as you wish. pretty basic but the only possibility of something else would involve knocking a wall or part of a wall. did you want anything more open or possibly not sure?

I’ll add better measurements on graph paper. But the measurements above are what I have to work with. My first thought was to put the range on the bathroom door wall - thinking visually that would look the best. But that would essentially put the fridge beside the entry door and I’m having a hard time visualizing that.

Actual room dimensions are 169x114. Shortened walls are to allow for doorway, trim, and light switches.

Can you share a bit more info about your plans for the home? There seems to be a fair amount of work that needs to be done to update the space before you even get to layout… is this a to-the-studs demo with full electrical and structural upgrades (looking at the ceiling & what appears to be a patched leak??) Is this your full time residence, flip or rental? By your above comment about leaving space for existing light switches, I’m guessing you are not intending on addressing existing electrical issues, which would make it challenging to update this kitchen to todays codes…

This is likely a flip. Or rental for family. My husband and I flip a couple a year. It is to the studs. Electrical will be done to code. What does space for electrical switches have to do with it? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Here’s a link to another thread dealing with a very small kitchen. You may find some useful suggestions for your space.

No one can make sense of this picture. A real, measured floor plan is not too much to ask to get useful feedback.

Please post a fully-measured layout of the space similar to the one below.

From the "New to Kitchens? Read Me First!" thread (Featured Answer):

Please post a fully-measured layout of the space under consideration and a sketch of the entire floor. Both can be either hand-drawn, computer generated, or drawn up with computer/app tools.

By "fully-measured", we mean a layout with the widths of each wall/window/door/doorway and the distances between each wall/window/door/doorway labeled. See a sample below. If something cannot be moved or changed, label it precisely on your layout (see post in sample) and tell us why it cannot be moved/changed -- we may have some ideas for you.

The sketch of the entire floor lets us see how the Kitchen relates to the rest of the home. It doesn't have to be to-scale, but it should accurately show how the rooms relate to each other and should include all interior & exterior doors. In addition, it will help us see how traffic flows in, around, and through the Kitchen. Label the front entry and family entry. The family entry is usually a garage or side entry, but it might not be. It's helpful to know which door you use to bring in groceries.

Regardless of how you draw it up (by hand, computer, etc.), please be sure all measurements are labeled. (Note: Computer generated layouts often lack key measurements and, sometimes, measure to/from things like the middle of a wall or the middle of a window. Neither are useful. Measure each item and the distances between each item.)

Janelle, you are the one that only measured to the light switches and door frames as noted in your comment above. If this is a complete gut then that information was irrelevant. If you are gutting the room & potentially other rooms (who knows what you’ll find once the walls are opened) then there is a possibility that doors can also be moved, or eliminated. @Buehl is fantastic at configuring kitchens and will be a huge asset to making the most of this space based on the full scale floor plan you provide. Looking forward to seeing how you transform this space!

When we get the to scale plan on graph paper you will get some help. Honestly if you flip 2 houses a year this should be a no brainer . Make sure the drawing includes all the doorways and where they lead too.
